Cabbage pudding is a traditional Swedish dish consisting of finely chopped white cabbage and minced meat that is mixed and then gratinated in the oven. This dish is known for its simple preparation and its rich, homey flavors. Cabbage pudding is usually served with brown sauce/cream sauce and boiled potatoes and is a popular Swedish home cooking.

Ingredients 4 ports
- 1 yellow onion
- 500g white cabbage
- 500g minced meat
- 1.5 dl whipping cream
- 1.5 tbsp light syrup
- 2 tbsp stock
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp soy
- salt
- ½ crm ground allspice
- 1 tsp ground white pepper
Do this
1. Set the oven to 200 degrees
2. Peel and chop the onion
3. Cut the white cabbage in half and remove the root. Cut the cabbage into smaller pieces
4. Melt butter in a frying pan and fry the cabbage and onion until soft. Drizzle over some syrup. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Mix the minced meat with cream, stock, soy, syrup, water, salt, pepper and allspice in a bowl, to a loose batter.
6. Layer the mincemeat and cabbage mixture in an ovenproof form, finish with cabbage at the top. bake in the middle of the oven for about 40 minutes, until the cabbage has a nice color on top.
Serve with boiled potato cream sauce and lingonberries
