Ingredients 6 ports
- 500g French steak
- 4 teaspoons of soy
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
- 4 tsp cornmeal
- 1 crm ground black pepper
- peanut oil
- 4 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated
- 1 krm “five spices” (Recipe HERE)
- 1 small green pepper
- 1 small red pepper
- 2 stalks of celery
- 1 can of mini corn
- 40ml oyster sauce
- 2 green onions
Do this
1, Cut off tendons and visible fat from the meat, and cut it across the grain into long thin strips. Mix soy, egg white, cornmeal and pepper. Add the meat and stir to coat it in the flour mixture.
2, Heat oil in a wok or heavy-bottomed frying pan. Add ginger, ‘five spice’, paprika, celery and corn and stir-fry over high heat for 2 minutes or until soft. Remove from the wok and keep warm.
3, Heat the oil again and quickly fry the meat in batches over high heat until the strips are browned but not quite cooked through. Don’t put too much meat in each round.
4, Put all the meat back in the wok together with the vegetables. Pour on oyster sauce. Stir-fry over high heat until the meat is done and the sauce is warm through. Remove from the stove, sprinkle with green onions and serve with freshly cooked rice.
