Have long wanted to visit this restaurant and now I had the opportunity to do so. Visited this restaurant in connection with celebrating my dear mother’s 70th birthday and it was absolutely perfect.
The place is Viking-inspired both in the premises and with the staff. When you arrive around 6 pm and the restaurant starts to get full, a man calls out who is entering the restaurant and where they are from. A very fun Genespic thing to do because you become one with everyone in some way. The restaurant is owned by Martin Eriksson (E-Type) who has a great interest in this period.
So when someone entered the restaurant, it could sound like this.
People sat as they probably did during this Viking age. Everyone sat together in a larger room and that everyone sat in long benches.
The staff at Aifur are absolutely fantastically cool and nice.
A Viking evening without mead? No, we drank mead with it. For me, this honey wine is a little too sweet. But you have to try it.
Started the evening with an appetizer which was very good. It was called Plate from Trogden and consisted of moose sausage, reindeer sausage, flat smoked pork side, reindeer heart, roast lamb and Cheddar cheese. If you’re lucky, there may be bear sausages with it. In the bowls, there should be applesauce, mustard and sauerkraut.
The hot dish was called Rurik’s large grill plate. It consisted of Flapsteak, rack of lamb and dwarf chicken. This dish was served with 3 different sauces and young baked root vegetables. This dish was a little different but it was very good. This dish you had to be at least 2 people to order or damn hungry
Those that were included were chanterelle sauce, red wine sauce and raw stir-fried lingonberries
An absolutely fantastic evening came to an end and it was time to go home again. I will definitely visit this restaurant again to try other things from their menu.
